Ministry announce special edition release of 'Live Necronomicon'

Ministry announced a limited edition of Live Necronomicon.

Live Necronomicon
is a live album captured on Ministry's legendary tour in support of The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste in February 1990 in Merrillville, Indiana.

The album is an extension of Ministry's 1990 EP In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up, which had only featured six tracks. Fans LOVED the EP but were disappointed that the band released such a short live record instead of a longer one, especially since the tour lineup featured so many incredible musicians including Martin Atkins, Ogre, Ian McKaye, Chris Connelly, and Jello Biafra.

Eventually in 2017 Cleopatra Records decided to issue a new version of the live EP, but this time it was extended into a 14 track release titled Live Necronomicon. The tracks previously released on In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up were included on the album, however they included raw versions of those songs (no overdubs), so they sound decidedly different than the versions found on the EP. Additionally, some covers that Ministry performed on the tour (songs from Skinny Puppy, Public Image Ltd, Lard, and Pailhead) were included on Live Necronomicon.

Today Ministry announced a new limited edition version of Live Necronomicon pressed on black/gold splatter vinyl. The release is available exclusively from Bandcamp and will be released tomorrow (September 2nd) as an added attraction for Bandcamp Friday, and the release is available to pre-order now.
